COACH PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
The profession of Professional Coach requires protection against professional risks. You may cause damage to a legal person (company) or a natural person (private individual) in the course of your professional activity.
Such damage, fortunately infrequent though it may be, does exist and can be very significant. It is therefore essential to protect yourself with a professional liability insurance policy such as the RC COACH insurance. Your quality coaching will thus be backed by appropriate cover.
Since 2009, EMCC has developed such cover with a major insurance company, Ethias, in collaboration with broker DAP (Degauquier & Partners). In 2021, we decided to bring it back into the spotlight by renegotiating for you a cover with no deductible at a preferential rate.
What is covered by the RC COACH insurance?
This insurance covers the damage you may cause to your clients, service providers, employees, competitors and even consumer or business associations.
Examples of sources of damage in the profession of professional coaching
- Omission, oversight, inaccuracy
- Error of law, fact or judgement
- Failures in advisory, information, warning or cooperation obligations
Examples of cases in which you may rely on this insurance
- During your work as a personal development coach, you make errors of judgement and your client files a complaint or claims compensation = >This falls within the scope of your professional RC insurance
- During your work as a coach in a company, you breach your duty of confidentiality or, despite your advice and input, a manager does not improve and then resigns. As a result, the company takes legal action against you for the damage suffered.
RC COACH (professional liability insurance for professional coaching) makes it possible to cover your services.
For EMCC Belgium members, this is moreover an obligation specified in the Code of Ethics that every member undertakes to respect. It is mentioned in article 3.12: "Members must take out professional liability insurance covering their coaching, mentoring and supervision activities in the various countries where they practise." (Global Code of Ethics, version 2.3)

- Civil defence + civil recourse: 12,500 EUR
- For EMCC Belgium members accredited EIA: 100.00 EUR incl. VAT
- For other members of EMCC Belgium: 130.00 EUR incl. VAT
